Privacy policy.
Effective April 27, 2026
Ready Auto Loans operates a Canadian auto loan matching service. We connect applicants with independent Canadian finance managers whose lender partners fit the applicant’s profile. We are a brokerage, not a direct lender.
This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Ready Auto application, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over that information under Canadian privacy law. Ready Auto currently operates in British Columbia and Alberta only. Additional provinces will be added over time.
This policy is governed by the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the substantially similar provincial acts: British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (BC PIPA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (AB PIPA).
Section one
What we collect.
When you complete the Ready Auto application, we collect the information you enter through the wizard. That includes, depending on the steps you complete:
- Your first and last name.
- Email address and phone number.
- Home address and postal code.
- Date of birth.
- Employment status, employer, length of employment, and gross income.
- Homeowner or renter status.
- Your own assessment of your credit rating.
- Vehicle preferences and trade-in details, if you have one.
We save your application as you go. As soon as you enter your name and email and click Continue, we save what you have so far so you can come back later and finish. If you do not finish in one sitting, we may email you a one-time link to pick up where you left off. The link expires after seventy-two hours and can only be used once.
When you give consent, we record what you agreed to: a version code that points to the exact wording shown to you, the date and time, the language of the disclosure, your IP address, and your browser’s user-agent string. This record exists so we can prove, on request, what you saw and when.
We also collect basic technical information when you use the site. This includes your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and session state needed to run the application. We use a self-hosted analytics tool (PostHog) to measure how the application wizard is used in aggregate (for example, which step has the most drop-off) so we can improve it. The analytics tool does not receive your name, email, phone number, or any other identifying detail you enter in the form.
Section two
Why we collect it.
The information you provide has one purpose. We use it to match your profile with a Canadian finance manager whose lender partners are positioned to approve an auto loan for your situation. That is the service. Prime credit, specialty approvals, self-employed income, newcomer to Canada, rebuilding after a bankruptcy or proposal: the finance manager we route you to depends on what your profile needs.
We do not use your personal information for unrelated marketing. We do not build advertising profiles from it. We do not enrich it with third-party data to sell.
Section three
Credit checks.
Ready Auto does not run a credit check on you. At no point in the application or matching process does Ready Auto pull your credit file. We assess your profile based on what you tell us.
Your matched finance manager may run a credit check if you decide to move forward with a specific offer. This happens only with your explicit consent, given to the finance manager directly, at the offer stage. You are free to decline at that point and walk away.
Section four
Who we share it with.
To do the matching, we share your application with the Canadian finance manager our system routes you to. That finance manager receives only what they need to evaluate your profile and contact you about an approval. We share with one finance manager at a time. If the first match is not the right fit, we may route your profile to another.
We use a small number of operational service providers to run the site and the application pipeline. These include a hosting provider, a database provider, and an email delivery provider. These providers process data on our behalf and under contract. They do not use your information for their own purposes.
We do not sell your data. We do not rent it, license it, or hand it to advertising networks. We do not share it with finance managers or lenders outside of the matching purpose described in this policy.
Section five
Consent.
We ask for your consent in two separate places, with two separate purposes.
The first is the transactional consent. When you enter your name and email in the application wizard and click Continue, you are agreeing that Ready Auto may email you about your application. That includes a confirmation, a one-time resume link if you do not finish in one sitting, and follow-up from the matched finance manager. Without this consent we cannot email you about the application; you can decline by closing the wizard.
The second is an optional marketing consent. A separate, unchecked box on the same step lets you opt in to receive Ready Auto financing tips and rate updates beyond the application itself. You do not have to check it. If you do, every marketing email we send you will include a one-click unsubscribe link, which we honour within ten days as required by Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
You may withdraw either consent at any time by emailing hello@readyautoloans.com or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send you. We will stop using your information for the matching purpose described above and delete it from active systems, subject to the retention rules in the next section.
Section six
How long we keep it.
Submitted applications. We retain submitted application information for up to seven years after the date of submission. Seven years is the standard retention period for financial records in Canada, and it covers the period in which a tax authority, regulator, or lender may legitimately need to verify the history of a loan match we facilitated.
Partial applications. If you started but did not finish, we keep what you entered for up to six months so you can resume from a recovery link. After six months we delete it. If you also opted in to marketing emails, we keep your name and email for up to twenty-four months from the last engagement so we can honour the opt-in, after which we delete it.
Operational data. Site operational data (IP logs, session data) is retained for shorter periods appropriate to its purpose (typically thirty to ninety days). After the retention period, this data is deleted or anonymized.
Section seven
How we protect it.
Ready Auto uses industry-standard security practices. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS). Application data is stored in access-controlled databases. Access is limited to Ready Auto staff and service providers who need it to operate the matching service, under contract and confidentiality obligations.
No system is perfectly secure. We do not claim otherwise. If a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant privacy commissioner in accordance with our legal obligations under PIPEDA and the provincial acts.
Section eight
Cookies and tracking.
Ready Auto uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality: keeping your wizard progress between steps, remembering your preferences on this device, and protecting against form-submission abuse.
We use a self-hosted analytics tool (PostHog) to measure how the application wizard is used in aggregate. It records events like wizard opened, step viewed, application submitted, and wizard abandoned, along with the step number and rough timing. It does not receive your name, email, phone number, or any of the answers you give in the form. We do not run advertising pixels or third-party cross-site tracking on readyautoloans.com.
You can clear cookies in your browser at any time. Clearing cookies will reset your wizard progress but will not otherwise affect your ability to use the site.
Section nine
Your rights.
Under PIPEDA, BC PIPA, and AB PIPA, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information Ready Auto holds about you.
- Request access to that information.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete information that is no longer needed for the purpose we collected it.
- Withdraw your consent to our use of your information, subject to legal retention requirements.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@readyautoloans.com. We respond to access and correction requests within thirty days.
Section ten
If you have a complaint.
Start with us. Email hello@readyautoloans.com and describe your concern. We will investigate and respond.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to file a complaint with the appropriate privacy commissioner.
